There are many aspects you should consider when buying a 60 flat screen TV. If you are in the process of buying this television size, do not hesitate to research and prepare a list of what you should look for in your television set. For most consumers, a television and DVD player combo is a good buy, but then it’s all up to you.

Here are items that you should include in your list to get only the best 60 flat screen TV for your living room or your home entertainment system:

1.	Room size. Because you know that you want a large television set, make sure that you have enough room to put it in. For a 60” TV, you will need a viewing angle of 90” or 1.5 times than the size of your television. Be sure to allocate this space so that you can maximize your viewing experience.

2.	Display type. For televisions of this type, you can choose between LCD, LED, and plasma. The first two display types are more or less the same, but if you want optimum picture quality in your high definition Blu-ray movies, the best option would be Plasma TVs. The disadvantage of LCD TVs is that it takes slower image adjustment. So be prepared to put in some cash if you opt to buy the plasma display type because this is really expensive. Furthermore, make sure that the room you are placing the TV in should be well-ventilated because plasma tends to produce a lot of heat.

3.	Audio system. Most television sets now include built-in speakers that vary in models and features. Since you are using a large television, check to see if its built-in audio system complements with the size. Make sure that the audio system really fits with your needs.

4.	Other features. These features include the number of ports in the TV, its color, and its remote control. Although this may seem to be minor issues, these also matter. For example, the remote control may be too bulky or it’s not easy to operate. Things like this usually count so take the time to check it out too.

A 60 flat screen TV is really a big thing to purchase so careful consideration and thinking must be taken. If you have not made up your mind, try to check online finds and compare prices. Aligning the price of the TV with your budget should also be one of your considerations. Nevertheless, do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

So you have just dropped a couple thousand dollars on a sexy new flat panel TV, now it’s time to complete the job by taking advantage of it. When mounting a flat panel TV, be sure you have:

Stud Finder Measuring Tape Power Drill Screwdriver Level Pencil The Bracket

1) Selecting the right Mounting Bracket:

Most flat screen TVs do not come with a mounting bracket. Depending on the size of your TV, these brackets can run you for around $50-$500. If you are shopping for a TV and would like it to be mounted, be sure to keep the extra cost of the mount in mind. If you already purchased a TV, check the manual to see which types of brackets are compatable with your specific TV. Most flat screens will fit in a wide variety of mounts, but certain TVs require specific types of mounts.

Check your owner’s manual or TV box for the words VESA Compatible. VESA stands for Video Electrionics Standards Association, and is the organization that formulates standards for flat-screen mounting brackets (among other things). “VESA” will be followed by a number or combination of numbers that will indicate what type of VESA standard your TV is set up for (i.e VESA 50/75/100). Make sure to get a mounting bracket that matches the exact number on your TV!

Also, be sure to keep an eye out for how much weight the bracket can hold (and know how much your TV weighs)

Types of Wall Mounts:

Flat: the cheapest, most common, and least versatile. This mount makes the TV look like a picture hanging on the wall (see above picture) Tilting: these mounts allow the TV to be tilted up or down about 15-20 degrees. This is the best type of mount for a TV that is higher up on the wall, and makes the TV stick out a few inches Articulating: the most versatile of the mounts. They allow the consumer to tilt, rotate, or swivel their TV to their liking

2) Find the Studs:

It is vital to find the studs in the wall and drill directly into them to ensure that the mount (and TV) will be safe and secure hanging on the wall. A stud is a piece of wood that serves as the interior fram of the wall. Because they are so solid and sturdy, they are the perfect candidate to trust when it comes to putting your TVs life on the line.

Run the stud finder over the wall until you see a light or beep (or both), indicating the location of the stud Mark an “X” with a pencil to remember exactly where each stud is, which is where you will drill your holes As a general rule, for an LCD (they are lighter) use at least 1 stud, and at least 2 studs for a plasma

3) Attatching the Mount:

After you have decided on a good location and height for the TV, it is time to install the mount. In most cases, there are two parts to a wall mount – one that attaches to the TV and one that attaches to the wall.

TV Mount:

The TV portion of the mounting bracket usually consists of two vertical rails that are attached to the back of the display The place where the rails attach to the TV are often covered up by plastic caps, so you’ll have to find them and remove the caps before you attach the rails If you’re going to lay the TV face down while you attach the rails, make sure that it is laying on a soft surface – otherwise you can damage your TV Most mounting brackets will come with special screws and washers that you can use to attach the rails to the television (using your screwdriver)

Wall Mount:

Hold the wall mount flush against the wall at the height (and in the location) that you want the television to be Move the wall mount horizontally until its holes are positioned over the wall studs that you’ve previously identified. If you’re only going to be using one stud, make sure that it falls in the center of the mounting bracket Take your Level, and hold it up against the mounting bracket to make sure that it is perfectly level Use a pencil to make a clear mark in the spots where you will be drilling your holes Take your drill and make small pilot holes on the marks where you want your anchoring bolts to go Secure the mounting bracket by screwing the bolts into place with a wrench or screwdriver Test the mounting bracket to make sure that it is securely fastened and that it doesn’t wiggle either way

4) Mount the TV:

Now that everything is in place, it is time to attach the TV to the mount on the wall. This may seem pretty straightforward, but keep these things in mind:

Flat screen televisions are often heavy (depending on the size) and can be tough to lift on your own. It’s always smart to get someone to help you lift the TV and attach it to the wall mount – especially if you need to help guide the rails onto the mounting bracket It’s usually a good idea to attach all of the cables on the TV beforehand – that way you won’t have to poke around the back of the TV blindly after it’s already attached to the wall A lot of people cover up the cords with wood, which is then painted the color of the wall. Some also feed the cords through the back of the wall, which can be quite difficult and time consuming Make sure that any safety locks or tabs on the mounting bracket are fully secure and functioning If you’re using a Tilting or Articulating wall mount, you can go ahead and adjust it further to the correct viewing angle If you are uneasy about setting the TV up yourself, it might be a good idea to have it professionally installed

A friend of mine swore that he just can’t stay a day without the benefits of Digital TV. Digital TV offers people access to hundreds of channels in many varieties to choose from. Reasons avail to why many now prefer Digital TV to Cable TV.

Users of Digital TV now have access to the information as well as the usual channels. Everyone can now enjoy lots of channels with the power of Digital TV. Children no longer have to be restricted to just the few channels they were watching because with Digital TV, they have the option of watching as many children channels as they can.

Affordability is a factor that has worked very well to the favor of Digital TV. Despite the many wonders of Digital TV, it costs less to own one than it does to own a Cable TV. This is where most people just don’t get it. More should cost more, not less.

It certainly makes no sense to keep paying more money yet receiving less. As a Digital TV subscriber you now have lots of varieties of channels to choose from. Digital TV has now made the dreams of many subscribers come true; now subscribers can watch as many channels as they want — be it comedy channels, movie channels, drama channels or music channels. The huge variety offered by Digital TV ensures they will remain better than Cable TV; unless Cable TV gets up and starts doing things better.

This is all well and good but what practical difference to our lives does all of this make as far as the Goodmans GTVL26W17HDF Digital TV is concerned.

The GTVL26W17HDF is a 26in LCD TV and these TV’s at present can be found in the region of 400 pounds sterling or 800 US dollars. The resolution of the screen is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Goodmans has 2 (2 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the GTVL26W17HDF uses is HDMI and 2. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and Digital and the Goodmans is available from a wide variety of outlets.

So given this information, what would be our view of the Goodmans GTVL26W17HDF?

First up, we would look at the picture quality and our score here would be 6, and closely tied in to the picture quality is the sound quality and our score for this would be 6. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 8. As far as overall features are concerned we would give it 8 if we then take a look at the ease of use and overall value for money then our scores would be, 8 and 6 respectively.

The overall verdict would be that this TV has a great amount to commend it in a number of ways but sadly we feel is let down by the actual perfromnce of the picture which sadly for a Flat Screen TV is rather important we feel.

It is extremely unlikely given the variety and range of makes and models available that you will not be able to find something to match your tastes or budget. You could either opt for one of the more cutting edge newer options available or stay safe and go for one of the more established options available. Either way we hope that by reading this short article you should have a slightly more informed view of the options available to you

We ask all readers to remember that the information in this article regarding the price of the TV’s are there for illustrative purposes and are meant as a guideline rather than an absolute quote and should be considered thus.

Getting a new TV for the home is a major purchase nowadays. If you are going to invest what most people would consider to be a large amount of money or at the very least a small fortune then it might be an idea to try and do some investigation and gfet it right at the outset.

Given the way technology changes it is essential to try and make sure that your purchase is relatively future-proof.

Digital television (DTT) is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound by means of digital signals, in contrast to analogue signals used by analogue (traditional) TV. There are a number of different ways to receive digital television. One of the oldest means of receiving DTV (and TV in general) is using an antenna (known as an aerial in some countries).

With this article the aim is to take a look at what is on offer with the latest generation of Flat Screen Televisions and in this case the Goodmans GTVL26W17HDF.

The GTVL26W17HDF is a 26in LCD TV and the prices for these would be in the region of 400 pounds sterling or 800 US dollars.

The most obvious place to start with as far as TV’s are concerned would be the picture quality and our score here would be 6, and for the sound quality we would rate it at 6. Another useful aspect to review is the availability and number of relevant connections and our score here would be 8. As far as overall features are concerned we would give it 8 if we then take a look at the ease of use and overall value for money then our scores would be, 8 and 6 respectively.

Finally our overall opinion would be that this TV has a great amount to commend it in a number of ways but sadly we feel is let down by the actual perfromnce of the picture which sadly for a Flat Screen TV is rather important we feel.

With the wide range and variety of makes and models available for you to choose from it is unlikely that you will not find something to suite your taste or satisfy any budgetary constraints that you might have. You could either opt for one of the more cutting edge newer options available or stay safe and go for one of the more established options available. Either way we hope that by reading this short article you should have a slightly more informed view of the options available to you

Please bear in mind the prices that are quoted in this article and take note that they are there purely for illustration and though valid at the time of the writing of the article may vary from time to time and also depending on the time of year when you make your purchase.

Another year another Vizio monster screen but this time it comes in the shape of a gargantuan 72 inch 3d flat screen tv. Last year’s top model was the 55 inch backlit XVT complete with WiFi that came in at a very competitive $2k, well fast forward 12 months this years offering with it’s high-tech, high-spec and a whole 72 inches of lcd panel may well prove to be the most tempting 3d tv system.

The top of the Vizio XVT range, due out in August, will sport wireless HD along with Vizio’s internet applications widget platform and wireless-N all packed behind an impressive 72 inches of flicker free, 480HZ, 3d enabled, lcd and all for an amazing $3.5K.

For anyone with a smaller budget or apartment room then Vizio offer alternative 47 and 55 inch models. These have identical features including the 3d capability and in addition will sport a new anti-reflective to reduce that annoying glare when the lighting is not perfect. The 47 inch version will be priced circa $2K with the 55 inch going out at $2.5K. For some reason the company have not slotted a 60 something inch version in there, perhaps a decision they will rue in the future as I do think they might have missed out given the price point they have come in at with their range and the huge gap between the 55 and 72 inch models (and prices).

All three models will benefit from 3D displays with Sensio technology and those all important 3d lcd glasses are the latest offering from XpanD, the all singing, all dancing bluetooth synchronized active shutter type. A wireless hdmi adapter can be purchased separately, it has 4 hdmi inputs that will use the 60ghz band to blast hd signals out.

It may take a while to get use to it but it looks very much like this time around 3D is here to stay. Vizio have set a bench mark with the XVT 3d tv system range. They may not win any design awards but as far as large 3d flat screen tv goes, these prices will be very difficult to beat.

Installing a flat screen TV wall mount is not a hard job if you’re pretty handy with your tools. Flat screen TVs are great because they can be placed anywhere in the house; they don’t have all that stuff on the back of the screen that gets in the way. The only tricky thing is making sure you can get the wiring where it needs to go. It’s a job that can easily be tackled by two people.

Or if you’re not sure about your handyman skills, you can always call a professional and have it done by them. This option costs you a little money, but there’s no easier way to do it. Before you get started drilling holes and so on, make sure it’s a job that you can do easily.

Types Of Wall Mounts

First, there are three different types of wall mounts, and they vary in installation difficulty. There are low profile mounts, which are the simplest but don’t offer you much adjustability once installed. There are tilting mounts, which give you the option of adjusting the screen vertically once installed. And, there are full motion mounts, which give you lots of flexibility. Tilting and full motion mounts are a little tougher to install.

Pick A Location

The next decision is to choose where you’d like to put your TV. You can install wall mounts just about anywhere, so pick a place that’s most comfortable for your future television viewing. One consideration is whether you install on an external or internal wall. In general, external walls are a little tougher to install. They have lots of obstructions which make screwing it in and also running wires to it a little tricky. Interior walls are easier.

Locate Studs

Inside the wall are “studs,” which make ideal places to perch your wall mount. You should first locate these studs. You can use a simple tool called a “stud finder” to find them. Once you’ve located studs in an ideal spot for mounting your TV, mark them with painter’s tape. This is where you’ll be screwing in your mount.

Basic Parts Of The Mount

Mounts vary according to model and make, but they’re all based on the same principle. There’s the part that attaches to the wall, and there’s the part that attaches to your set. Once you’ve attached the part to the wall, and the part to your set, you’re ready to attach the two together – and now you’re TV is mounted.

Your instruction manual will have detailed step-by-step instructions for putting it all together. Basically, you’ll use a power drill to make holes in the wall, and then attach the mount with screws. The more screws you use, the better. They’ll create better stability. The part that attaches to the TV is called the “bracket,” and consists of vertical bars that hold the set in place.

At this part of the process, it’s good to have a little help. It’s very hard to attach these parts together by yourself. Get someone to hold them in place while you do the screwing.

Installing a flat screen TV mount is a small to mid-sized handyman job, depending on how big a set you buy. It’s a job best done by two people, or by a professional if you’re not confident about your handy-working skills.

Where to buy flat screen tv? This may be the question that you have in your mind but before you buy any tv online or even offline there are some things that you could take into consideration.

Note: If you plan to use a plasma for gaming, some games with permanent ‘dashboards’ may still cause some burn-in. If you will be using the television for display use only, go for an LCD. Plasmas are more likely to get burned-in pixels.

Miscellaneous

- LCD TVs are far less fragile than plasmas. This is also an advantage when the tv set has to be shipped or moved to a different location.

- LCD TVs are also much easier to install than plasma TVs.

- LCD TVs have a better performance at high altitudes.

- LCD TVs are often cheaper than plasma TVs. The difference in pricing is getting smaller, however.

One of the best things that you can do in order to get the most information about buying any kind of electronic device is researching who recently bought the product that you plan on purchasing yourself.

I have created a blog of the many different reviews of people who have bought flat screen tv’s and have purchased some of the different products on the market. I think you will find this very helpful because most of the information on the web is difficult to trust.

Many of the online retailers will tell you that you are getting a brand new tv but in fact ou are getting some refurbished products that are going to break down or have errors that you wouldn’t expect.

My mission is to help you avoid this and go with a proven website recommendation for the best results in finding the tv that you would like to purchase whether it is online or offline.

For more information click one of the links below so you won’t have to ask yourself where to buy flat screen tv?

One of the more frequent questions we receive here at OriginalDustCover.com is how to remove light scratches from Flat Screen & LCD TVs safely without making the scratches worse. Scratches can result from some of the most innocuous, everyday items such as a thick piece of paper or magazine, a nerf toy, or tiny fingernails from kitty cats and children. Any of these items can unintentionally brush against your Flat Screen, leaving a scratch that can be visible whether the television in turned on or off.

The secret to removing light scratches from your Flat Screen TV is to use the proper tools. Here is the list of tools to gather:

1.) Isopropyl Alcohol – Available from grocery stores, drug stores, hardware stores

2.) Micro Fiber Cleaning Cloth – Available from sunglass stores, Wal-Mart, Target

3.) Distilled Water – Available at grocery stores, Wal-Mart, drug stores

Never, ever use Windex, glass cleaner, or other window cleaning solutions on your Flat Screen TV. Additionally, never use paper towels on your Flat Screen TV, as this is the quickest way to permanently damage your screen with thousands of little scratches.

Firstly, mix a 50/50 solution (half Isopropyl Alcohol and half distilled water) in a liquid safe container. Isopropyl Alcohol is usually listed at 90% pure, so mixing a 50/50 solution results in a cleaning solution that is nearly perfect for our needs.

Secondly, dip your Micro Fiber cloth into the solution and begin to gently rub the scratch on the TV in a circular motion. It is important not to rub too hard, as friction from the Micro Fiber cloth can make the scratch worse. Continue to use a circular motion while keeping the Micro Fiber cloth damp with your Isopropyl Alcohol and distilled water solution.

Finally, the scratch should begin to disappear as the Isopropyl Alcohol in your cleaning solution evaporates. If the scratch does not begin to disappear or becomes worse – STOP! You may have a scratch that needs a more thorough fix. Our next article will address such a situation! Remember, the easiest way to remove scratches from your Flat Screen and LCD TV is to prevent them in the first place. Take a look a Micro Fiber Dust cover from OriginalDustCover.com for the best protection of your TV.

Your laptop computer is designed to be highly portable; as such, screen sizes are often small to save weight. While this is great when you are on the go, at home you may desire a larger viewing screen. If you have a flat panel TV, such as a plasma or LCD, you can connect your laptop to your TV and use it as an external monitor.

Use a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable. HDMI will provide the highest quality output from your laptop to your flat screen TV. Most laptops manufactured since 2008 have HDMI ports. Locate the HDMI output on your laptop (usually on the side opposite the disk drive) and insert an HDMI cable into the port. The other end of the cable will plug into an open HDMI port on the back of your TV. http://www.papatek.com/LCD-Panel

Use a digital video interface (DVI) cable. Certain older flat-screen TVs have DVI ports instead of HDMI. Nearly every laptop supports DVI output. The DVI port will be either along the side or to the rear of the laptop. Insert a DVI cable into your laptop’s DVI port and connect the other end to the DVI input on your flat-screen TV.

Use a video graphics array (VGA) cable. This connection will supply the lowest-quality picture output; however, most laptops support VGA, and nearly every flat-screen TV has a VGA connection. The VGA connection is typically located on the side of the laptop opposite the disk drive. Insert one end of a VGA cable into the VGA port on your laptop and the other end into the VGA input on the back of your flat-screen TV. http://www.papatek.com/Cell-Phone-Accessories

Configure your setup. Windows will automatically detect the external monitor and begin outputting video to the external display in the correct format. However, if fine tuning is needed (rare), enter the “Control Panel” and select “Display.” Under the “Advanced Options” tab, you will find controls for adjusting the refresh rate, screen size and other parameters if necessary.
